LIONS TIGERS AND BEARS!

Hello Friends and Family,

Yesterday was a first for Joshua. He went to the Memphis Zoo for the first time. My friend says she took him there as a baby, but I know he doesn't remember that. I barely remembered it.

He was a little hesitant in going. We got closer and closer to the entrance and he wanted me to hold him.
He starts out with ANYTHING new with great hesitancy. We had to talk him thru the process of having fun. Since we are doing animals in his class at church, the Zoo was a great start in cementing what the 'real' thing looks like. The day didn't start out good, but got better. We really thought rest of the day would be rain free. NOT!~ We went anyway. It is such a short time for the free day, 2-5pm. We thought the rain would stay away. NOT! But, we had fun anyway. The Memphis Zoo has grown much in the past 5 years. It has been that long since we have gone. I'm sure we will go now more often. At least now I have a child who WANTS to go and see more animals. It's not boring to him~

I took pictures of Josh when I could get him to stay put long enough. Matter of fact, my Wordless Wednesday was in the Polar Bear exhibit as he was standing there. I saw the look, and snapped~
He was so close, up and personal with some of the critters. It's so fun to watch a child discover the 'animal kingdom' for the very first time.
We really enjoyed the time there. When the rain did fall, we were on our way to the sea lions. We did get a little wet, but it was worth it. We stayed in that area for the duration of the rain then we left.
One thing you do at a Zoo is walk and walk and walk. Josh, by this time, was at the head of the pack, yelling and saying un-intelligent things and having the time of his life. We did catch him saying, whose your daddy a few times? Why at the zoo and why that??? He was having a 'zoo' of a time~!~~~
It was fun!!!

Enjoy pictures!~
