Hello Friends and Family
Jed will start Airborne school on Monday. He is checked into the airborne barracks now. They have women upstairs and men down stairs. They have 4 people to a room. I'm sure he is thankful for the privacy again. He said there are about 300 people there. Marines, Army, Navy....
He is getting to unwind this weekend. He has figured out the main post (thats the main base) and has gotten around by the old fashion way, walking. He said they have everything you could want on this base and never leave it. Pretty self contained.
He found a TV to watch the Memphis/ UCLA game Saturday night. He was pretty happy about this.
GO TIGERS!!
On Monday before they ever start the school, you have to pass the PT test. (physical training). If you don't pass, you DON'T start. Pretty cut and dry. He feels pretty confident in his ability to pass. I'm sure they have to be strict on YOU being physically able to jump and land correctly.
I will let you know on Monday what his verdict is and how the day went.
I took this picture at Infantry school of this sign on the brick walls.
Pray for Jed... this school will be taxing on you emotionally and physically! He will meet new people and have to stand up for what he believes again to a whole new group of people. Pretty much like it will be for the rest of his life huh?
Liz
