JEDS GOING AWAY ARMY PARTY!! GREEN AND ARMY STRONG

Hey Friends,

We had a WONDERFUL time celebrating Jed’s going away party. The place was packed. Camouflage was sporting everywhere. Jeds favorite color. You know you can get duct tape in that flavor~~
The celebration was more like a hug. Jed knows he is loved, but parties are more like hugs… you want to squeeze real tight. I hope when he’s down on the ground eating dust, shining shoes, taking a part a rifle, or making a bed, he will think about all the good times he has shared with his friends, and THAT will make his day!

Everything was simple and perfect. Many came by to wish him well, sign a poster and get some cake. He did get some cool parting gifts. He will need a calling card so he can call when the time arises. That is provided now with the money he received. He can get more stamps and envelopes. I’ll have him well organized so all he needs to do is stick a stamp on them and lick the envelope!

He was very surprised at all. I basically kept him in the dark for the total surprise of everything. He dreaded it not knowing anything~ boy was he surprised. He got plenty of hugs and handshakes. It is comforting to hear the men who have been thru boot camp and been in the service for many a year~ They can do it~

Thank you all who did get to come. Jed will be working at the restaurant till at least this Friday night or Saturday. He leaves next wed. night to a hotel then we see him getting sworn in on Thursday morning then off to the airport. They will fly to Atlanta, then a bus to Fort Benning. They will be processing for about a week before he actually starts.
He will get to come home for Christmas for two weeks then back to finish boot camp.
I’m not clear on his graduation date yet, but we know its late late February or early March.

I promise more pictures to come. The boys broke my camera with Bolivian sand in the lens.. so it is not working and took most of my pictures on my 'regular' film camera. How I really miss my digital.

The one photo I've included is of Miss Melba Morris. She has been their spiritual grandma since the kids were wee little ones. She has loved on him and, sent him cards, had great words to say about him. I'm so glad she got to come. Many of you know her and have spend hours talking with her. I was a new bride and she spend hours talking with me. I'm glad she came.

Will update with his cake when I get 24 pictures taken~ bummer~~

Okay~
Thank you for blessing Jed.
You know he is loved~
