I realize the picture will not be as big as I would really like it... but ...Here we go~~~
I would like you to meet a special lady... Helen Davis. For my home schooling buddies you will recognize the name. Helen started our dinners we have come to know and love as our MOMS DINNERS each month. That was in august of '89. BTW: WE HAVE MET EVERY MONTH SINCE THEN... She was brand new in home schooling and wanted to know more. She invited some ladies over and sat them down and asked questions. They had so much fun... she decided to have it once a month. See her home was not a large house... it was less than I'd guess 800 square feet. We sat on wheat buckets and ate off real china and laughed, prayed and listened to some great wisdom from the ladies. She did this for a few years. Then her mom passed away and expecting a second child: she gave coming to her house every month up to each of us now having a chance to host the dinner.
This picture had some of the 'originals' in it. I'm not an original but more of a relic now. I came into this about 2 years into her hosting at her home. This night at her home for a dinner (July 07) was a surprise for her.(the ones who came from afar) Her dear sweet husband and her father have passed away in the past 6 months and she was ready for a dinner. Indian Curry was on the menu and it was delicious. Once you tried it you always wanted to have it again. More about the recipe later.
You might recognize the folks:
back row: Liz, Andra, Doris Collins, Trina Pearl, Kim Owings, Tammy Madill and Grace Switzer
Front row: Toni Holt, Linda Stablein, Kelly Madill and Barb. Timbs.
VERY FRONT ROW: The mom's dinner queen herself: Helen Davis
We had a sweet reunion.Told some funny stories... Why can't we do more of this more often?? Why wait for funerals and weddings?~~
Thank you ladies for making my life richer!~~ I really really enjoyed the evening~ and have enjoyed the fellowship for the past 17 years. Man I am really getting old~
Liz
THANK YOU JOANNIE FOR GETTING THIS TOGETHER... WE EXPECT YOU AT THE NEXT ONE AT HER HOME IN OCT.... THE 23RD~

Ah the memories. My first meeting was at Helen's house out there somewhere in Shelby Forest. I must have turned around a half dozen times before I finally found the place. Those mother's dinners were the inspiration to get through another month of homeschooling. Linda Stablin was my encourager for schooling Kyle. I learned about school style's, children learning styles, and the power of prayer. Thanks ladies for a walk down memory lane.
